How it works, honestly
Most invitation services ask you to create an account and keep your guest list, your venues and your replies on their servers. Vowlio works the other way round, and it is worth understanding the difference before you trust a link with your wedding.
Your data lives in the link
When you press “Create my link”, your details are compressed and encoded into the web address itself, after the # symbol. That part of an address is never sent to a web server when a guest opens the page — their browser reads it locally and draws the invitation. There is no database, no account and no copy of your wedding anywhere for us to lose, sell or leak.
Replies go straight to you
The reply button on your invitation links to a page you control: your own form, your WhatsApp, your email. Answers land with you directly. The honest trade-off: there is no built-in counter or guest dashboard — your form keeps the list, the way couples have always kept it.
One link, always current
If the ceremony moves by an hour, rebuild the link in the builder and your page is new again. Send the fresh link to your guests; anyone opening it sees the latest version. (Old copies of the link still show the old details — they are snapshots — so do resend after a change.)
The keepsake is automatic
The guest page compares the wedding date with today. Before the day it counts down; after the day it counts your days married and the time to your next anniversary. Nothing to switch on, nothing to renew.
That is the whole model: a small, honest tool that does one thing in the open. If you need seating plans and a guest CRM, a full wedding platform will suit you better — and we would rather tell you that than pretend.
